ONLY 3 LEFT...... 2 boys and a girl!

Who will come for Mr Blue? So affectionate and cuddly.

or Mrs Black, the leader of the pack?

Or first born Mr Red, so beautiful!

How could anyone resist? The phone calls and emails are coming thick and fast, I keep meeting myself coming backwards we're so busy with constant visitors, and we have house guests with 2 delightful children too.  Busy, busy!

To say the pups are being socialised is an understatement! They are being LOVED TO BITS!

So, guess where I was sitting?

This is what happens if I / we sit down in the garden for a moment or two. First they investigate us, chewing toes, laces, ankles before eventually sitting down and snuggling together for a snooze!

We have to choose very carefully where we put our feet to get up without disturbing them. Luckily this wonderful weather means we are able to stay outside with the pups almost all day and they are the most wonderful time wasters. We never get bored of just watching their antics!

They really enjoy their food, and are eating four solid meals a day now. They all weigh 6 times their birthweight, at 5 weeks old that's pretty good. Bella has been the most fabulous mum and she's beginning to get some time and energy for herself now, because we try to let the pups nurse just morning and evening. Bella insists on chasing her ball  on walks now and is in no hurry at all to return to the pups. Natures way.

Of course what goes in must come out - and we are certainly working hard on that front now. Probably at least 44 times a day! Keeping them all clean and the patio in a hygienic condition takes perseverance and tolerance - and patience! Every thing we do attracts their attention, and those puppies do like to help if we are sweeping or mopping up. That is fun I can tell you. Busy, busy we certainly are!

We have had lots of visitors and many pups now have families and new names. As I write this we only have two girls left and several boys, but with visitors over the next few days I'm confident that will change.

So, Alan and I still have to find time for our allotment and we take turns who will stay with the pups or who will go off to harvest beans or plums. I like to bring back a posy of sweet-smelling sweet peas to try and rid my kitchen of that delightful puppy smell.

And when I get a moment or two between washing and poop scooping I shall make jam and pies with these beauties. The fruit trees are LADEN this year, because of all the rain I expect. Life goes on.

I will leave you with another pic or two -
            "Let sleeping dogs lie"

and there's always one who wants to be alone!

 Wonder what he's dreaming about?

Four weeks and ready for anything!

Four weeks and ready for anything!

Well the word is out, the adverts have gone public and I'm sure the phone will start ringing. We have spent the last two weeks or so getting ourselves ready for the constant stream of visitors we expect if last year is anything to go by.
Bella and the pups have been busy, constantly nursing and cleaning up, and growing bigger each and every day.

From this on day 1

Blind, deaf, smooth coated and helpless to this in just 4 weeks.....

Purple collar off to explore the world

There has been lots of fun on the way of course, from sleeping in the huddle

to... sleeping in the shade

to sleeping at our feet

to sleeping with Bella

and sleeping on the scales

Yup, a whole lot of sleeping, and eating. Not much else. We are just beginning to have to clean up after them now, but until now have had it easy.
Our gorgeous Bella has worked miracles and been such a fantastic mum. What a star!

It's time to begin toilet training in earnest, after their feed of "puppy soup." Oh yes, our lives are about to get "busy, busy" in earnest. Wish us luck!
